Zobe's Forward for the liner notes:
Back in the sixties and early seventies when I was a kid, the
Bookmobile, which was kind of a mini-library on wheels, would
come to the "Sun Mart" on Mt. Vernon Rd. I'd race there
after school and check out as many books as I could and race
home to my room to look over my treasures.
I'd absorb those chapters as they took me on journeys that led
me far from the friendly confines of my neighborhood. From my
room I would solve mysteries with the Hardy Boys, score winning
baskets with Matt Christopher and float down the Mississippi
with Tom Sawyer. They opened up the window of my imagination
and made anything seem possible, even to a little boy growing
up in Iowa. Those books and all the incredible music of that
era that my older siblings turned me on to, (especially when
my parents went out for the evening, ) laid the foundation for
a life-long love of books and music. This CD is a result of that
love. I hope you enjoy it.....
Thanks for listening, Dave

"Dave Zobl scores again with this, his second,
CD! He has an honesty that seems rare to me anymore and this
music could'nt be more satisfying. Tunes like the opener One
for the Books and Road
Trip speak clearly to me about my own life. I relate completely
and my favorite song is without a doubt All
by Myself.
Truly great!!! I'd love to think Dave's following will grow significantly
because this is quality music. Buy it, you'll love it!"

"Many a day I take my lunch hour from work and
just drive around listening to this cd. And, many a night (into
the early morning hours:) I put the headphones on & do the
same thing.
The words and music sooth me.
They take me back to my backyard, they bring me back to reality; What's truly
important in life and how fortunate we are because of family & friends.
I wish each of you the same reaction.
Thanks for expressing what most of us
struggle with putting into words."

"Interesting layers of country, jazz
and blues - it has variety. Both contemplative and upbeat, the
music and lyrics have you let go and enjoy the journey. The honesty
lets you in and this artist can be trusted - you feel better for
it."

"A friend sent me a copy of this CD and I have been blown
away!
This artist has a unique ability to relate to what I think
us late thirties -early forties people are going through or have
been through. It is one of those rare albums where every song
is good...no skipping to the next with this one!! Road
Trip is
a fantastic tune that will take all of us back in time on that
'Road Trip' in
our past. In the Morning , is a classic...really, all the songs
are great. If you are looking for a disc that is full of classic
, heartfelt, well-crafted music, you can't go wrong. My guess
is that Dave Zobl will be a household name to music lover soon!!

Lyrics to "Chapters"
I look at the books upon my bookshelf
And the different titles bring a smile
In each one a little piece of my heart dwells
With it's own essence and style
A variety of writers
From Emerson to Hemingway
Timeless words that never expire
Faithful guides along the way
Chorus:
My life, it goes in chapters
Pages of tears, pages of laughter
Beginnings and middles
Endings and everafters
My life, it goes in chapters
Many times the plot has thickened
And the storyline's been rearranged
And often been re-written
As the characters have changed
It sometimes reads like a mystery
Or a piece of fiction in disarray
It's really just a biography
Of someone trying to find his way
( Chorus )
Lyrics to "One For The
Books "
It's timing your drive / So you miss all the traffic
It's an old beachfront dive / It's an old jukebox that's classic.
It's a good work-out / The great feeling after
A quiet stream full of trout / A room full of laughter.
Chorus:
It's the little things / Wrapped in little places
In the window of time / It's those pockets and spaces
That make a day / One for the books.
