Growing up as the youngest of five children in Iowa, Singer/Songwriter Dave Zobl's childhood could easily read like an episode of "Wonder Years."

His debut cd "Best Day Yet" conjures up images of that time with songs such as "My Backyard," "Iowa Boy," and "My Old Man."

Zobl was raised listening to the great music of the Sixties and early Seventies.

"That was an incredible time of music and I was fortunate enough to have older siblings who turned me on to a lot of it. From the Beatles and Rolling Stones to Bob Dylan, Carole King, CSNY, James Taylor and all the great Motown music.

There were always albums and 45's around. Plus there were all the great radio stations on AM and the advent of the underground FM stations that introduced me to all kinds of music."

Dave's influences run the gamut from Van Morrison to John Prine and that diversity can be heard throughout "Best Day Yet."

With the release of his second cd, "Chapters," Zobl continues to develop his craft with songs that are at times personal and touching, at other times easy going and humorous, but which are at all times universally accessible.

"I turned forty last spring which naturally lent itself to reflecting on the past and thinking about the future. That, and because I've always enjoyed reading and having books around seemed to make "Chapters" a fitting title for the cd.

I can equate every chapter of my life with the music I was listening to at the time. It has been a constant in my life, so now to be able to give my own music a shot is awesome.

With any luck I will continue to grow and evolve as a musician and person (there is plenty of room) and that will be reflected in what I hope is many more cd's to come."
